The meeting was called to order at 7:14.
The main order of business was to elect seven board members from the ten accepted nominations. One of the ten wanted to help where needed but preferred not to be elected to the board. Discussion began regarding the remaining nine. A motion was made and seconded to expand the board to nine positions. The vote was unanimously in favor.
All nine nominees were unanimously voted to be accepted as the new board members. They are Karen Buswell, Bill Fuhrmann, Todd Murray, Randy Simmons, Greg Kelcher, Gerry Vangen, Gina Hammes, Bruce Peterson, and Marilyn Ohnstad.
Marilyn was elected president and Randy was elected vice president. The other positions remain unchanged at this time. The alias email address of removed to thwart spammers will be expanded to include all the board members.
Gerry and Randy will gather ideas for club representation at the dome this winter. Some ideas discussed were greeting dome skaters, handing out club leaflets, and skating with beginners on the lower level.
Additional visibility ideas were discussed for the summer months. These included displaying flags and signs at the skate events.
The 2002 membership fee was set at $20 per individual. Children under 18 at the same address of a paid member are $10, if they register at the same time.
Moving the club season from a calendar year to a seasonal year was discussed. The t-shirts were also discussed. These topics will be brought up again.
A suggestion was made to put the minutes on the website. (Suggestion implemented. - webmaster) The board meetings will continue to be the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Karl & Gina's home. The next meeting is November 13. Agenda items will include naming the other volunteer positions and the club season. Full agenda to be sent later.
